One Day Seminar titled "Indigenous Pakistani literature: Dialogic encounters between the local and the global"

The Department of English organized a one-day seminar titled : Indigenous Pakistani literature: Dialogic encounters between the local and the global" Genre" on December 21, 2023. This was the second of a series of seminars that will be held under the umbrella of "Provocations: QAU Literature Seminar Series". The aim of the seminar was to foreground the rich but neglected body of Pakistani literature that is being produced in the various languages of Pakistan. The panel consisted of Pakistani fiction and TV/Radio drama writers: Farheen Khalid, Safia Shahid and Fatima Usman. The session was moderated by Dr Aroosa Kanwal and Dr Furrukh Nadeem. The panelists outlined the precarious state of the indigenous literature in Pakistan and emphasized the need to preserve the local tradition of Pakistani literature without ignoring the sense of global responsibility and a vision of our collective future.
